Designed to streamline household chores. Cadence is an intelligent task scheduling platform that learns your family's task frequency so it can automatically queue chores at the right pace.

Cadence is a household task scheduling platform, built first for my own family. Everyone logs completed chores from their own phone in about three taps, and the app handles the rest: what's due next, who has done what this week, and how many points each kid has to spend.

Scheduling adapts to the household. Mark a chore "smart" and Cadence learns how often it actually gets done, then schedules it on that interval instead of a fixed guess. Parents can bump a chore to the top of the queue, mark it urgent, or assign it to one kid, and any chore or reward can require parent approval before points are awarded.

Kids redeem points for rewards the parents define, like picking the movie or staying up late, and each kid chooses a theme that recolors the entire app. Push notifications send a daily nudge and alert parents when something needs approval.

Cadence is an installable PWA, and it has grown from a single-family app into a multi-tenant service any family can sign up for. Each family gets its own isolated database, and parents bring other family members in with a QR code.

I built all of it: 1,039 commits between April and July 2026. Version 1.0 shipped with 585 tests, and the suite now exceeds 1,200. It runs on the same small server as this site.
